Writers' showcase revisited

What have you been up to since the last interview?
Oh, my -- let's see. During that last interview, I believe I mentioned a little romance in the works that I didn't want to jinx by talking too much about at that time. Since then, that romance blossomed, and we got married in September of 1999, in a wedding that transcribed in real time into a chatroom so that all our online friends could participate.

We recently got pregnant, but unfortunately, the baby died, so we're looking to try again once we recuperate from this loss.

Although a FoLC is forever, are you still an active part of the fandom? What holds your interest now?
Not really. Since getting married, I seemed to get so busy with other aspects of my new life that I let my fandom activities slide. I've been around a little bit, though, as I've found time.

Are you still writing? If so, what is/are your current project/projects?
The only writing I've done lately has been in journals -- first my wedding journal, then the baby project journal. I'd like to get back into writing fiction, but my muse seems to be on leave of absence -- although I don't remember giving her leave!

Do you think your writing style has evolved? How? Why?
Well, I'd like to think my style has matured with the experience of being married, but since I haven't been writing, it's hard to say.

Has your view on the characters and the show changed, and why?
I've realized in the last couple of years, more than I ever had before, that Lois & Clark, especially in fanfiction, are very much idealized and romanticized.

Are your tastes in fanfic, as well as your view of writing in general, different from what they used to be? Why?
I think I would probably be more interested in what are sometimes called fanboy stories, or perhaps a style of story that combines the best of the fanboy and relationship styles -- in other words, a little more action with the romance.

What are your most recent picks of other fanfics in the fandom?
I'm hopelessly behind in reading fanfic -- the most recent thing that I read was the last installment of Margaret Brignell's Only You series, which I beta-read -- has she sent that to the list and archive yet? (See? I told you I was behind -- I don't even know if that one's out...) In any case, I loved that one!

I never meant to disappear like that, FoLCs! But real life just got really... interesting! My time lately has been filled with cross-stitch and family history and learning how to be a good wife to my sweet hubby.

Thanks for remembering me, and keep writing!!!
